Week #9 YouTube, etc....things 20
I know I am supposed to embed a video from YouTube, but this one of Lisa Hannigan's is disabled. I think it's super cool so will just post the URL for viewing pleasure!

Week#8 Twitter...things 19
Just set up a Twitter account and added the widget.
Twitter is addictive, so I've tried to stay away.
I think it would be neat to eventually use Twitter to notify patrons of information regarding their account, like say for example new book arrivals. We could even tweet past due notices or alerts when requested material is available.

Week #8 Online Apps & Tools...things 18
I think in Europe web-based applications are used more frequently.
We in the States are chained to MicroSoft!
Anyway, this was created in ZOHO.

Week #7 Wikis...things 16,17
It's been fun looking at the different library-related wikis via 23 things.
Library Success: A best practices wiki
I am intrigued by the "Work Like a Patron Day" that various libraries have established. I think this would be a fun, educational way to really find out what works and what is lacking when it comes to patron services.
I enjoyed the Princeton Public Library's Book Club Wiki. And on a side note, their catalog is really cool and easy to use!
Also, the edit option is no longer available for the Learning 2.0 SandBox wiki.

Week#6...things 15
I enjoyed reading Michael Stephens's perspective on Library 2.0.
Into a new world of librarianship
His take on new services being born in a climate of collaboration is in line with my idea of where the library is going in the future. Building online connections will enable libraries to really find what people want and need. This way the library becomes an experience rather than a transaction.
